If AVG, Ad-Aware, Avira (no cloud), BitDefender, Kaspersky, Malwarebytes, Microsoft, and Sophos say it is safe, I deem it to be safe.* Subject to copyright. I just installed the 4.1.4.1 file again to check on this OpenCandy stuff.Īpart from a file in a temp folder, and one registry entry, which were easy enough to find and remove with Malwarebytes Anti-Malware, OpenCandy was not an issue.įor any file I download, I check the Digital Signature (good in this case) and run it through VirusTotal. Do you know which version is candyware-free at:

Years ago, on an older computer, I had a Freemake version that was candyware-free. Avira anti-virus warns me against both the 4.1.9.42 and the 4.1.4.1 version. I would like to find an older version of Freemake Video Converter, prior to their bundling of candyware. Just out of curiosity, why do you want the older version? There is a full (about 27.3MB) offline installer of version 4.1.4.1 available here: The small (about 1.3MB) online installer requires an internet connection, and will install the latest version from the internet. Has anybody else tried for an earlier version? How did you do it, please? I tried turning off the internet, but a messaged opened up insisting it must be on! What do I need to do to my windows7 pc to ensure I always get the correct version? When I install it always comes out as the latest version 4.1.9.42 I want to install a 2 year old version of Freemake Video Converter, version 4.1.4.1
